I have always loved this classic style of home. This 1910 home was renovated and featured in This Old House magazine which is one of my personal favorite magazines.
When I was a kid I used to watch the original This Old House television show with Bob Villa. I remember I was fascinated by the renovation process they would show. I even recall I was able to send away for the blueprints of the project house that was being done on the show. The idea of saving an old house and bringing it back to life still resonates with me.
The old-fashioned front porch of this house is great. A perfect place to spend a hot summer afternoon.
I like how they have mixed the old and new together - making the older home fitting for a modern family.
Though the house is freshened up - you can still see the elements of quality and detail of the 1910 house....the fireplace, the beams...
A great family kitchen.
Anytime you can use bead board in a home - I'm all for that!
I also like using barn doors as interior doors. This room shows how you can have a guest room or kid's room and still keep it open and airy - yet close it off easily too...
Barn doors are a great space-saver...
A great example of a home with history - starting a whole new chapter in our modern world!
