Downton Abbey Season 3 | Preview of New Season

As you know, I am a huge fan of the PBS Masterpiece series Downton Abbey.   The writing, production values, settings and the casting are so well done and a very welcome change to the world of "reality television" that we see on television now...

Though Season 3 does not officially premiere here in the US until early 2013 - it is about to premiere in the UK soon.  So with that in mind, here is the new preview trailer for the new season!

You can also revisit my behind-the-scenes visit to Downton Abbey with the series' Executive Producer - Rebecca Eaton here:

"The Good Wife" | New Furniture Collection!

So excited about Set Decorator Beth Kushnick's new line inspired by "The Good Wife" television series - of which she designs the set decor for every week - along with her partnership with Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams...

These are some of the pieces below - inspired by the various character sets from the hugely successful television drama on CBS.  Now - you too can have them in your own home!

This has been a personal passion project for Kushnick and the creative alignment with MG+BW is perfect for it...

Love this sofa!

The big launch is happening and the products are available on their website.  Plus, you can read more about the collection and Beth's vision for it by clicking here:  THE GOOD WIFE COLLECTION

Looks like I'll have to plan a revisit to the set of the series soon to see the new pieces of the collection on location.  In the meantime, check out the link to the set visit I had done last fall.

Congratulations to Beth and her creative team!

Welcome Home : A new season begins...

I'm all about creating "moments" that you are drawn to...areas or things that catch your eye at home and invite in to enjoy it...

Here is something simple to try at home - create a welcoming table that you see in your foyer, entrance hall or mud room.  A table with some nice flowers, a bowl of fruit, some favorite books and a beautifully-scented candle... In my house, I would do books about John Singer Sargent's art work, a fig scented candle and whatever flowers you see at the market - probably something white.

Just create a place that says "welcome home" to you and your family at the end of the long day.  Doesn't have to cost lots of money, take too much time or even require any major changes - just take a moment to create something visually pleasing to enjoy now...

More to come...
