Staircase Style...

  • Staircases are a great location to show off your collection of family photos or simply images of things you love...travel locations, vintage finds, kid's art, etc....

  • How you arrange and gather the images is part of what can truly make the collection stand out...

  • Using matching frames with varied sizes for the white mattes inside can bring the look together yet give you some contrast...

  • I'm a big fan of black and white images - especially of family photos - they are timeless and easy on the eye when displayed in a grouping...

  • Thought this might be a great way to use all those digital photos that we all have and have never printed...

  • Start using your own staircases as an instant gallery...and - yes - I urge you to change out the images sometimes to keep it interesting...a rotating exhibition...

Love it!
I have a curved staircase that has a ledge midway -- causing the curved wall to separate into 2 different planes. I'm struggling with whether I should keep all my art (architectural renderings from the 1700s and 1800s) above the ledge. Or, place some below the ledge on the different wall plane. Any thoughts?

Thanks! Lori

Thank you for this post. It is very inspiring! I currently live in a small apartment, but I am always seeking inspiration for my "dream home" that I plan to purchase in a few years! I also plan to pick up your book.

I'm a new comer and read blogs via Google Reader. FYI-your blog's photos don't show up in Google Reader...
