The Journey of The Book...

  • A year ago, when I started writing and photographing my book, I never truly imagined the moment of seeing it laid out in a completed book form...but now here it is...

  • This bound galley sits on my desk (the almost completed proof of the book) and soon it will go to press to meet our release date of February 2011...It's funny for me to see all the words and images finally gathered together...

  • The exciting part is that the book can now be pre-ordered online via the landing page that my publisher John Wiley & Sons created for it...

  • What I get from the pages of this book is that the original essence and approach that I wanted to take with the information and creative direction in it - stayed in focus from its initial conception all the way through to where it is now...

  • The bottom line is that I wanted the book to empower you - the homeowner - to make your home better now...no matter who you are, where you are or how big or small your home may be...That's what this book is all about...Taking what I know about design...what I have learned from my experience in makeovers on television and in magazines - as well as with private clients...and sharing it with you...

  • So when I look at the original rough draft of the writing and notes - not to mention the hundreds and hundreds of photographs I shot for the book...I realize that the voice of what the book was going to be all about remained clear...So as the year ends and I start putting away the drafts, research and details that helped me create the book...I take this away with me....there is no place like home...

Zoned Living - Continued...

  • I found some additional views of this large open room design - so thought I would share them for further visual inspiration...

  • Above - you can clearly see how the other "seating zone" plays into the "main seating zone"...

  • As I always say, it's all in the details...Coffee tables displaying interesting things can really add some life to any room...
