- Being a dad, I'm always thinking about creative ways for kids to have a place to play but also use their imaginations...
- Kids are so bombarded by TV, video games and the internet - sometimes it is just nice to let them be kids and use their imaginations for awhile...
- To keep things fresh and new, it's fun to be able to change things up a bit for the kids to keep things interesting...Changing their rooms around from time to time, switching out toys and de-cluttering spaces can make a big difference...but I also like when you can take something and move it around (inside the house and outside) to create a play area - this paintable tee pee does just that...
- As I was shooting these images of the canvas tent that is truly paintable - I was inspired about how something so simple can be so much fun for the kids...I liked the clean lines of it and even though I had every intention of painting some scene on to it - I found that I liked the natural look of the canvas for now...
- There are different sizes and styles of tee pees and tents available, but this size (about 7 feet tall) is just right...easy to pick up and move... Plus, it can be used outside or inside the house too...
- I always remember the tent in the film THE HOLIDAY with Kate Winslet...In it, there is a great indoor kid's tent that has great lighting, comfortable pillows and is just a great place to hang out as a kid (and as a grown up too!)...So tents and tee pees are always a great way to give the kids a fun space of their own...
- I do have plans to let the kids paint this tent with some scene from their imaginations...but for now it is nice just the way it is...especially at twilight...

- Raising hens has been a fun experience over the past year and I find myself with sometimes around 15 to 20 organic eggs daily...Aside from giving eggs to friends, I am always trying to find creative ways to cook with eggs...
- So on a recent weekend with friends, we attempted to make something that I never thought I could make - a chocolate souffle...
- I have also focused in on trying to get the knack for making crepes in recent months...which can be filled with anything and are pretty easy to make to my surprise...
- So that weekend became a weekend of trying to make a new meal revolving around the crepe concept and trying to create a dessert that requires you to tip-toe around the kitchen as it is baking!
- The above photo is from the recipe we followed from my everything eggs cookbook...The image below shows our version...which worked out pretty good in the end and tasted amazing...
- I have followed the recipe for crepes from the book below (link at end of this posting) but I have also found that a quick and easy version can be created in the blender from a recipe I followed from Giada DeLaurentiis...See the video here: Crepes
- I have done both versions and the idea of just making a batch up in the blender is so easy for me...and keeping things easy is always a great way to go...
- Below is my final version of the chicken and mushroom crepes I created in the end...
- Here is the link to the cookbook we used for both the souffle and the stuffing for the crepes...EGGS and the link to the Giada video once again for the crepe mix and another idea for a quick dessert...Giada...
